Brief History: Lucy is the daughter of John and Holly McClane. She has a younger brother named John, after their father. She was raised by her parents for the first few years of her life, but they divorced when she was young. After that, she was raised largely by her mother. John was around as much as he could be, but with his devotion to his work, it wasn't as much as he would like -- and it certainly wasn't as much as Holly would've liked, which only led to further estrangement. As she got older, Lucy clashed with John more and more until she stopped talking to him sometime around her senior year of high school.

During her freshman year at Rutgers, Lucy is taken hostage by Thomas Gabriel and his men in an attempt to prevent John from thwarting his plans. John rescued her, though; as a result, the events they'd gone through brought them closer together. They still don't always get along -- and she still persists in calling him John -- but it's going better than it was.
